Research/On-Campus Jobs

REU programs are a wonderful way to get into research if you are not in a lab at UT. REU requirements vary among each other and so it's good to check out the link below and browse around which topics that you are interested in.

UT Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences is sponsoring the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program. The goal of SURF is to give undergraduate students an intensive, 10-week research experience in a world class research environment. Students immerse themselves in the laboratory and work on individual research projects with UT Southwestern Graduate School faculty. Most areas of modern biomedical engineering, cancer biology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, development, genetics, immunology, microbiology, neuroscience, stem cell and pharmacology are represented.

Student Instrument Technician

  • This is a job for analytical chemistry labs at UT Austin.

  • The job would include setting up and shutting down instruments for classes, doing routine maintenance, and sanitizing instruments between labs

UGTA for Chemistry

Apply to become a Undergraduate Teaching Assistant to support undergraduate courses. You will get some teaching experience and this is a great way to become closer with professors!

You could also become a Learning Assistant that would help improve your teaching and communication skills. It's different from an UGTA position as you don't get paid.
